Traditionally one of the highlights of the conference is an organized technical visit and during this conference two of those visits are planned.
The first one will take place in the historical core of Split and will include a visit to Diocletian’s Palace and the construction site of the Hotel Marjan.
Diocletian’s Palace is an ancient palace from the 4th century and one of the best preserved monuments of Roman architecture in the world. Its uniqueness represents the quality of Roman architecture and construction with people continuously living in it until today.
After a short walk along the waterfront we are going to visit the construction site of the Hotel Marjan, one of the tourist symbols dating from 1963 and also one of the largest investments in Croatian tourism.
The second technical visit will take place on the sunniest island in Europe, Hvar. We will visit the famous historical building Arsenal from the 14th century in the historical centre of the town Hvar as an example of modern reconstruction of a historical building. The European Commission awarded the Hvar Arsenal the Europa Nostra Award, the most prestigious European recognition in the field of heritage.
