Today we remember Zagreb 2020 earthquake with discomfort but with gratitude we celebrate the memory of the 1st Croatian Conference on Earthquake Engineering (1CroCEE) that started one year ago. Once more we would like to thank every author, speaker and participant without which 1CroCEE would not be so successful.
On that regard, please find all published papers now available in open access at the 1CroCEE website:

We are very pleased to inform you that the Conference has attracted great interest among the scientific and professional community in Croatia and abroad. We have received more than 200 abstracts from 26 countries.

Due to the latest earthquakes in Croatia (On December 28th, 2020, a 5.0 magnitude earthquake hit Sisak and Petrinja area, 50 km south of Zagreb, then on December 29th, 2020 at 12.19, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake hit the same area) we were unable to respect deadline for abstract acceptance notification because our team of engineers organized and preformed site survey and structural damage assessment in the area. On that regard we decided to extend Full paper/Extended abstract deadline to 15th February 2021.

On December 28th a 5.0 magnitude earthquake hit Sisak and Petrinja area, 50 km south of Zagreb. Our team of engineers have quickly organized site survey and structural damage assesment in the area. On December 29th at 12.19, a 6.2 magnitude earthquake hit the same area causing human casualties and severe structural damage. It was damaging for Zagreb area as well and felt throughout Croatia and neighbouring countries. Fortunately all engineers doing damage assesment are unharmed.

First meeting for structural damage assesment Engineers trapped in collapsed building Petrinja earthquake damage Engineers exiting collapsed building
